Terms of Service

The agreement between you and ABA Mastery when you use the app or sign up for an account.

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account, paying for a subscription, or otherwise using ABA Mastery (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service. We may update these Terms from time to time; we'll post the new version with a refreshed "Last updated" date and, for material changes, notify you by email.

2. Eligibility

ABA Mastery is intended for adults preparing for the BCBA® certification examination or otherwise studying applied behavior analysis. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

3. Your account

You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account. If you suspect your account has been accessed without your permission, contact us at hello@abamastery.app immediately.

4. Subscriptions and billing

ABA Mastery offers a Free tier and two paid plans, Core and Pro. Both are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) through our payment processor, Stripe. A third plan, Lifetime, was previously offered as a one-time payment; it is no longer available to new customers, and Section 4.4 sets out what continues to apply to people who already hold it.

4.1 Auto-renewal

Core and Pro subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. You may cancel at any time from your account settings; your access continues through the end of the period you've already paid for. We don't refund partial periods except where required by law.

4.2 What Core and Pro include

Core includes the full question bank across all 9 BCBA domains, unlimited mock exams, spaced-repetition and SAFMEDS flashcards, custom flashcard decks, per-domain analytics, and the fieldwork tracker. It does not include any AI feature.

Pro includes everything in Core plus the AI features: the AI tutor, the AI study coach, and AI tailored drills (collectively the "AI Study Partner", described in Section 5). The AI features are exclusive to Pro because each AI message carries a real per-use cost, and they are subject to the usage limits described in Section 5.

4.3 Price changes

We may change the price of Core and Pro at any time for new customers. If you have an active subscription, the rate you signed up at stays the same for as long as that subscription remains active and does not lapse — a change to our list prices does not affect it. If your subscription lapses or is cancelled and you later resubscribe, you'll pay the price in effect at that time. If we ever do need to change the price of an existing subscription, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice by email and a chance to cancel before it takes effect.

4.4 Lifetime (discontinued plan)

The Lifetime plan is no longer sold. If you purchased it before it was withdrawn, nothing changes for you: your access continues on the terms you bought under, for the lifetime of the Service, with no renewal and no further payment. That access covers all 9 BCBA domains, unlimited mock exams, flashcards, the fieldwork tracker, and content that ships in future, on the same basis as before.

As was the case when Lifetime was offered, the AI Study Partner is not included in the Lifetime plan. Lifetime holders may add the AI tutor add-on as a separate recurring subscription, or subscribe to Pro, if they want AI access. Withdrawing the plan from sale does not reduce, expire, or otherwise alter existing Lifetime access.

4.5 30-day money-back guarantee (Lifetime purchases)

Lifetime purchases carried a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you purchased Lifetime within the last 30 days and decide it isn't for you, email us at hello@abamastery.app and we'll refund the full amount, no questions asked. Refunds are issued to your original payment method through Stripe, and your Lifetime access ends once the refund is processed. This guarantee covered the one-time Lifetime purchase only; it does not apply to Core or Pro subscription payments.

5. The AI Study Partner

ABA Mastery includes an AI tutor that uses third-party large language models (currently Anthropic's Claude). The AI is a study aid. It is not a clinical decision-making tool, not legal or medical advice, and not a substitute for the judgment of a licensed professional. AI responses can be confidently wrong; always verify critical information against Cooper, Heron & Heward and the BACB Ethics Code, and never use AI output as the basis for clinical decisions with real clients.

Conversations with the AI may be stored and used to improve the Service. We do not sell your AI conversations to third parties. See the Privacy Policy for details.

6. Content and intellectual property

All practice questions, explanations, flashcards, and other content provided in ABA Mastery are original works owned by ABA Mastery or its licensors. You may use them for your personal study only. You may not copy, redistribute, scrape, or republish any portion of the content without our written permission.

You retain ownership of anything you submit to the Service (fieldwork entries, notes, AI prompts). By submitting it, you grant us a limited license to store and display it as part of providing the Service to you.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to harm, harass, or impersonate others.
  • Scrape, crawl, or automate access to the Service in ways that put load on our systems.
  • Reverse-engineer the Service or circumvent any tier gates or rate limits.
  • Share your account with people who haven't paid for access.
  • Submit confidential client information into AI prompts or fieldwork notes. Use initials only, never full names or identifying medical details.

8. BACB affiliation disclaimer

ABA Mastery is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). References to the BCBA® certification, the 6th Edition Test Content Outline, and the Ethics Code for Behavior Analysts are made for educational purposes only. BCBA® and Behavior Analyst Certification Board® are registered trademarks of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.

Passing the BCBA exam depends on many factors. We make no guarantee that using ABA Mastery will result in a passing score.

9. Termination

You may close your account at any time from settings. We may suspend or close your account if you materially violate these Terms, if your payment fails and isn't resolved, or if we're required to by law. On termination, your access ends; we'll retain or delete your data per the Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, ABA Mastery is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Hawai'i, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Honolulu County, Hawai'i.
